Bangladesh
Overview
Bangladesh has one of the highest rates of child labor in the world. The poverty, the conditions, the environment, and human greed, are depriving children of an education, of innocence, and of life. From an early age, as young as 4 or 5 years old, the lives of many children in Bangladesh are being led into a future with dire consequences.
Children forced to work at an early age in Bangladesh is leading to health and developmental problems, they are suffering from significant growth deficits as compared with school children, and most of them are working in conditions that leave them extremely vulnerable to many hazards.
And, since most children live and work in slum areas, the poor conditions & unhealthy environment make them severely susceptible to infectious diseases, injuries and other related ailments. Amputations or loss of body parts is not uncommon. Abuse is commonplace – verbal / sexual abuse, beating or punishment by starvation. Many are exposed to drugs, violence, and criminal activities at a young age.
Living life normal, for these children, is depriving so many of the innocence children need to grow, expecting trust and security, in humanity around them. What grows up instead, is a lifeless shell of what could have been.

How We Help
We are bringing “The Bread” because the children are poor and hungry, overworked and exhausted.
We are teaching about “The Bread of Life” because, as their lives depict, belief in the real Saviour can become difficult as these children, almost, begin their life forced into a lifestyle of ritualistic work, labor, and false religion.
We support education because we want the children to gain an opportunity at something better in life.
